Thinking Out Loud...and Mary Kay?

Yeah...so I suck at blogging. Sorry people.

Life is...uh...hectic.

Seriously, how is it March 7th and I haven't blogged since Leap Day?

I think I'll blame Leap Day for my failures here. It's always fun to blame arbitrary events for my shortcomings.

Anywho, I was thinking that maybe I should stop thinking out loud..or in print...whatever. But then, I thought that would be less enjoyable than doing so. So here we are.

I'm thinking about trying to sell Mary Kay now. I first used Mary Kay as a teenager so I've been using it for around 15 years. I've always thought that you have to really believe in a product in order to effectively sell it. I do believe in Mary Kay's line of products. I'm particularly fond of the skin care. When I use it consistently, my skin gets clearer every time.

Oh, and have I mentioned that I had an esthetician tell me she noticed wrinkles beginning to form under my eyes? Gah. I'm 29. I don't need to hear that ridiculousness (so what if it's true?).

So maybe I could use a good discount on my own Mary Kay. And a few extra dollars could certainly help our family.

I need your input. What do you think? Would you be interested in purchasing from me? I'd be willing to offer special discounts to my blog readers on my own MK website if I do begin the business.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Young at Heart

My wonderful friend and sorority sister from college sent me this pic today. She knows I'll always be young at heart when it come to Ninja Turtles. It's nice how the little things can brighten our days!

Decorative Accents

I'm probably the farthest person from an interior decorator that you'll ever meet, but I'm still trying. I've recently picked up a few things from my favorite high-end design store (a.k.a. Target) to spruce up my home a bit. Today, I particularly wanted to buy a few things to make our downstairs bathroom look a little more inviting. Let me know what you think...

I know it's not a whole lot, but I bought some coordinating pieces like rugs and towels as well as some nice apple cinnamon potpourri. My favorite part is the wall decal. I wasn't sure how well it would work on our walls because of the uneven texture, but I'm quite pleased.

The bathroom wasn't my only little project today though. I also found these very cute wooden hooks for the kids' bags. Only $2.50 each!
And finally, I've been meaning to share more of the wall art we purchased. This time, it was for the kids' room...

These small things make my house feel more like home. I know I'm lucky to be able to indulge in such things and I am grateful.

And since I'm on this little kick, please let me know if you have any cute, affordable ideas for decorating the house!

Almost Wonderful Day #2

Why the "Almost?" You'll find out at the end...I know the suspense is killing you! ;)

Last night, Shaun and I assembled our new cube storage units in the living room. I organized all the toys and I'm very proud to say that the kids have done a pretty decent job of cleaning up today without disturbing the organization. They were also very grateful for their new "toy shelves." That made us very happy.
What do you think?
Around noon, we headed out for a little family fun at the Discovery Children's Museum here in town. The kids had a fantastic time! It's great to see them using their imaginations more and more everyday. We stayed for about 2 hours. We also finally bought a family pass so that we won't have to pay anymore for future visits for the next year. I'm so glad we did! Just look at what a great time this place is...

So what could've possibly taken this day in the wrong direction?? Well it seems as if I've been stung by something or other. Not sure if it was a scorpion or some other species of the smallish variety, but it's no fun. I called poison control and it appears to be minor. I shouldn't have to go to the ER unless symptoms get significantly worse, but it makes me nervous nonetheless. I've lived in the desert for nearly 7 years and have never experienced this. I guess it was likely to happen eventually.  For now, I'm just trying to relax and not let my anxiety get the best of me. I'll keep you updated and hopefully, I'll have good news in the near future!
